Install a CAPIT chatbot on your website

To add a conversational assistant, also called a chatbot or chat bot, use the CAPIT Chatbot console. This setup is separate from a chat room for people.

Open the CAPIT Chatbot console

1. Open the console

Sign in with your CAPIT account, select an existing workspace or create one with a name and your website’s HTTPS address.

2. Configure the assistant

Set its name, colour, greeting, languages, role and instructions. Enable the chatbot and save. Add the exact origin of the embedding page to allowed domains: https://www.example.com and https://example.com are different origins.

3. Add reliable sources

Under Sources, enter a title, an optional public URL and the document text. A URL alone does not import a website: paste the useful content. Choose Public for visitor information; Owner sources are excluded from public answers. Enable and save the sources.

4. Check the plan and budget

AI generation requires an active chatbot plan and available credits. Preparing a free workspace does not provide unlimited AI answers. Check current offers in the console and set your spending limit and alert under advanced settings.

5. Test answers

Use Test my chatbot with questions your documents actually cover. Check the answer and its sources. Without a relevant source, the assistant should report that it cannot answer. Generation tests may consume credits.

6. Embed it in your page

Under Integration, copy the iframe code generated for this workspace and paste it into an HTML block where you want it on your website. Publish and test on desktop and mobile. Never include a secret key in public code.

If the chatbot does not answer

Check that the chatbot is enabled, the page domain is allowed, sources are active and public, and the plan, credits and budget permit an answer. Embedding does not make Owner sources public. This guide does not promise automatic crawling of your entire website or audio/video calls.
